What this website processes — and what it doesn't.

In short

This is a static website. There are no user accounts, no forms, no uploads and no cookies. The search function runs entirely in your browser — your search terms are never sent to us. We use no advertising networks, and nothing here follows you across other websites.

Server log files (hosting)

When you open this website, our hosting provider processes technically necessary access data, including your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested, the referrer, and browser and operating-system information. This processing is required to deliver and secure the website.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in operating the site securely and reliably.

Processor: Cloudflare, Inc. (USA), under a data processing agreement. Transfers to the USA are based on the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, supported additionally by Standard Contractual Clauses.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, uses no fingerprinting, and creates no cross-site or cross-device identifier — so it cannot follow you between websites or recognise you on a return visit. It records aggregate information only: which pages were viewed, the referring site, approximate country, and browser and device category.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in understanding, in aggregate, which pages people find useful. Because no information is stored on or read from your device, no consent is required under § 25 TDDDG.

Processor: Cloudflare, Inc. — the same provider that hosts this site, under the data processing agreement and transfer basis described above. Analytics therefore adds no recipient beyond the host already named: the same company, the same agreement, the same legal basis for transfer. We use no other analytics or advertising service.

Cookies

This website sets no cookies and stores no information on your device. No consent banner is required under § 25 TDDDG.

External links

We link to primary scientific sources, including DOI resolvers, PubMed and publisher pages. When you follow such a link, that provider's privacy policy applies; we have no influence over their processing.

Retention

Server log files are kept only as long as necessary for operation and security, then deleted. Any analytics data is held in aggregate form only, without personal reference.

Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). Contact us at the address above to exercise them.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).

A note on what these rights can reach here. We operate no accounts, run no forms and store no contact details, so we keep no records of our own about you. The only personal data in the picture is the access data in our host's server logs, described above, which we do not use to identify anyone and hold no means of connecting to a name. That means a request under Art. 15–20 may be one we genuinely cannot match to a record (Art. 11 GDPR). Write to us anyway and we will tell you plainly what exists and what does not — and your right to object under Art. 21 and to complain under Art. 77 is unaffected either way.
