Accessibility statement
What we have done, what we have not verified, and how to tell us when something blocks you.
Status
Partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA, self-assessed. "Partially" and "self-assessed" are both doing real work in that sentence: the site was built against the AA criteria and checked by its authors, but it has not been through an audit with a screen reader or by an external tester. We would rather tell you that than claim a conformance we have not demonstrated.
What is in place
- Keyboard access. Every link, control and disclosure works from the keyboard, with a visible focus outline on all of them, and a "skip to content" link as the first stop on every page.
- Structure. One
h1per page, headings in order, real landmarks, and breadcrumbs on fix and category pages. - Contrast. Body and interface text meet the AA ratios. Where white text sits on the brand red, a darker red is used so small text still clears 4.5:1.
- Motion. Everything that moves is disabled or frozen when your system asks for reduced motion. No autoplaying video, nothing that flashes.
- Without JavaScript. All content is in the HTML. Scripts only enhance — nothing on this site requires them to be readable.
- Touch targets of at least 24×24 px, and the page reflows to a phone without horizontal scrolling or loss of content.
- Images and diagrams. Each illustration carries a text description; the decorative ones are hidden from assistive technology rather than described pointlessly.
Known limitations
Honest gaps, not excuses:
- No screen-reader audit yet. The site is built to be readable by one, but has not been tested end to end with VoiceOver, NVDA or JAWS.
- The site is English only. There is no German version, which may matter to readers here even though the audience is worldwide.
- Search results come from a third-party component (Pagefind). We have given its input a proper label, but we do not control the rest of its markup.
- Scientific wording is unavoidably dense in places. Effect sizes and confidence intervals are technical by nature. Every claim is written in plain language first, but we cannot make a confidence interval simple.
Tell us about a barrier
If something here blocked you, please say so — including which page and what you were using. Email onehonestfix@gmail.com. We will fix what we can and say what we could not, the same way we handle corrections.
This statement describes the current state of the site and is updated when that state changes. It is not a claim of legal compliance.
